Project Overview The concept behind the EchoChild Project is to provide a facility that children can visit to learn about recycling, re-useable fuels, self sufficiency, basic farming and country crafts. There are several ongoing fundraising activities happening currently so that the centre can open on time. This is the first project of it’s kind aimed directly at children and we hope it will be the first of many. Thank you for taking your time to visit our site and thank you for your ongoing support This site will be updated as the project develops. More pages, pictures and news stories will be added as the project grows so make sure you come back and visit regularly and don't forget to spread the word! The main concept is to provide a facility that educates children and their families, schools, clubs and friends to the benefits of recycling, sustainable energy, ecology and self suficientcy, all of this but in a fun and relaxed environment. In addition to this, to offer a respite facility for families and carers of children with disabilities or children with long term and/or terminal illness The Project site will take the form of a working farm with many animals including Dartmoor Ponies, Rabbits, Goats and other "petting" livestock. As well as this the project will be completely self sufficient, providing it's own energy and crops as well as other food sources. We particularly would like to take children from cities and towns that have little or no experience of the countryside and hopefully encourage them to see the benefits of growing your own food, recycling and keeping animals. We aim to have a facility that also has accomodation for overnight stays for longer visits but primarily the center will be opened as a day center.
